What is the telephone befriending service?

Our free telephone befriending service gives customers aged 50 and over the opportunity to connect for regular, social telephone chats.  

The service involves our friendly, fully trained volunteers contacting our customers for an up to 30 minute chat at the same time each week.

It's ideal for those who:

• May feel lonely at times
• Are able to communicate over the phone

How does it work?

3.  We ask you some questions (or the person you’re referring)

4. We match you with a volunteer

5. We then give you a call to begin the process

What are the community groups?

Our free community group for people aged 50 and over. We organise event and activities in the North County Durham and West Northumberland areas.
